Yes, a Puppet Master film on the big screen. Imagine that!

RLJE Films’ hotly anticipated Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich is arriving in limited theaters and on Digital HD and VOD platforms August 17, 2018, and it promises to be the kind of gory good time you’ll want to watch up on the big screen, with a packed crowd.

Cinestate just announced the first batch of locations for the film’s theatrical arrival, and they urge you to “check your local theater for details and showtimes if you don’t see a theater near you.” Find the first batch of locations below!

The reimagining of the Full Moon Features cult classic stars Udo Kier (Suspiria, Blade, Brawl in Cell Block 99), Thomas Lennon (TV’s “Reno 911!”), Jenny Pellicer (TV’s “Cocaine Godmother”), Nelson Franklin (TV’s “Veep”), Charlyne Yi (This is 40), Michael Pare (Eddie and the Cruisers), and Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator).

In the new film, directed by Sonny Laguna (We Are Monsters) and Tommy Wiklund (Wither), and written by S. Craig Zahler (Bone Tomahawk)…

“Recently divorced and reeling, Edgar (Lennon) returns to his childhood home to regroup his life. When Edgar finds a nefarious looking puppet in his deceased brother’s room, he decides to sell the doll for some quick cash at a small-town convention celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the infamous Toulon Murders.

Girl-next-door Ashley (Pellicer) and his comic book shop boss, Markowitz (Franklin), join Edgar for the doomed road trip. All hell breaks loose when a strange force animates the puppets at the convention, setting them on a bloody killing spree that’s motivated by an evil as old as time.”

Meagan reviewed the film out of the Overlook Film Festival and called it “unapologetic,” explaining that it “delivers bonkers gore and offensive humor!”

Two-time BAFTA winning filmmaker Joe Wright (Hanna, “Black Mirror“) is set to direct the feature adaptation of post-apocalyptic thriller novel, Juice, Deadline reports today.

Emmy winner Abi Morgan (Shame, “Eric”) will adapt Tim Winton‘s novel for Working Title Films.

In Juice, “A young husband and father is recruited into a top-secret resistance organization, to join the ranks of militia men tasked with targeting the isolated and wealthy culprits responsible for this global catastrophe.  When a mission goes wrong, he finds himself on the run, having to fight to the end to survive in this hostile world.”

It’s set in a world ravaged by climate-change disaster.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled that Tim Winton has entrusted us with his extraordinary epic,” Wright told Deadline. “The story is both a thrilling modern family saga and an urgent call to action. I cannot wait for audiences to experience it on the big screen.”

Winton added, “I’m pleased to know a filmmaker of Joe Wright’s calibre has chosen to adapt Juice for the screen. His capacity to portray the turmoil and the turning points of nations and peoples as well as private individuals distinguishes his work as a director and I’m confident that Juice is in good hands.”

Juice was initially published in October 2024 and longlisted for The Climate Fiction Prize 2026.
