David Gordon Green On the Single Take Sequence He Can’t Wait for Us to See in ‘Halloween’
John Carpenter’s Halloween kicked off in memorable fashion with a four-minute, single-take tracking shot showing us Michael Myers’ first kill, following a young Myers as he stalks and kills on Halloween night. It seems we’ll be seeing a similar sequence in David Gordon Green‘s Halloween, which aims to reboot the franchise by tapping into Carpenter’s genius.
Speaking with Cinema Blend, Gordon Green teased his own one-shot sequence.
“I’m dying for Halloween fans to see the sequence — it’s a one-shot sequence when Mike gets back to work,” Gordon Green told the site. “It’s a very long shot. A very complicated scenario that we took a long time rehearsing and strategized on how to achieve it in one shot. Michael does a little trick-or-treating of his own, and that’s pretty exciting.”

“Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.”
“A British documentary crew comes to the States to visit Michael in prison for a retrospective of the maniac’s night of terror — but their project becomes way more interesting when Myers escapes custody, retrieves his signature mask and seeks revenge on Laurie, with others naturally being part of his impressive career body count along the way.
In the decades following the fateful Halloween night that forever altered the former babysitter’s life, Laurie has armed and prepped herself for Michael’s inevitable return — to the detriment of her family, including daughter Karen and granddaughter Allyson.”
Judy Greer plays Karen Strode, Laurie’s daughter, while Andi Matichak landed the coveted role of the film’s young lead (daughter to Greer and granddaughter to Curtis).
Nick Castle will return to the role of Michael Myers, while stunt performer and actor James Jude Courtney has also been cast to play Myers.
The cast also includes Virginia “Ginny” Gardner (Project Almanac, Marvel’s “Runaways”), Miles Robbins (Mozart in the Jungle, My Friend Dahmer), Dylan Arnold (Mudbound, Laggies, When We Rise), and Drew Scheid (“Stranger Things”, The War with Grandpa). They will be playing the friends of Matichak’s Allyson.
Michael returns to Haddonfield on October 19, 2018.
The killer tomatoes are back in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, and the offiical poster for the brand new movie has been unleashed tonight.
Additionally, we’ve learned that the film’s theatrical release is set for this August, with a panel set for San Diego Comic-Con this month featuring the world premiere of the trailer.

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes launched in 1979, followed by 1988’s Return of the Killer Tomatoes, 1991’s Killer Tomatoes Strike Back, and 1992’s Killer Tomatoes Eat France.
The franchise also spawned an animated series in 1990.
