Next summer, the fear goes deeper.
The surprise box office success of Johannes Roberts’ 47 Meters Down last year, originally set to be a direct-to-video dump, has paved the way for a sequel, and it would seem that 47 Meters Down: The Next Chapter has already been filmed. Surprisingly, the first teaser trailer dropped on Collider this morning, perfectly/smartly timed to the release of The Meg.
Recently, we spoke to Roberts and he compared the sequel to The Descent.
“If I had to pitch it in a very simple way, I would describe it as The Descent underwater,” Roberts explained to us. “So it will be six or seven people trapped in the caves in Brazil, an underwater city.”
Ahead of the June 2019 release, check out the early teaser below.
