As of this past Tuesday, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom can now be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home, available on VOD, DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD. The discs are loaded with special features that take you behind the scenes of the massive production, and the folks over at Mashable just got a pretty awesome exclusive special featurette of their own.
Having practical effects, such as animatronics, as often as possible was one of the main techniques that director J.A. Bayona used to get genuine reactions out of the actors in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Mashable talked to one of the film’s puppeteers and got some insights into what it takes to breathe life into these beautiful inanimate creatures.
At different points in the film, Blue, the T-rex and the Indoraptor were all brought to life using practical animatronics, and the video digs into the incredible magic that made it happen.
