Yes, it’s been 30 years since we first met Chucky in the original Child’s Play, and the little guy’s 30th birthday has been an interesting one, to say the least. We learned recently that a new iteration of the killer doll will be coming to life in a remake for MGM and Orion, while creator Don Mancini plans to continue his original franchise with an upcoming television series.
Speaking of Mancini, he’s being awarded the prestigious “Master of Fantasy Award” at next month’s Nocturna Madrid Fantastic Film Festival in Spain, kicking off on October 23!
In addition to the award presentation, Child’s Play will also be screened.
For the past 30 years, Mancini has been keeping Chucky, and the entire Child’s Play franchise, alive and well. For that, he damn sure deserves the crown, “Master of Fantasy”!
Nocturna Madrid runs from October 23-27.
