When Rob Zombie makes a movie, it’s pretty much a guarantee that it’ll be loaded with blood and guts, so it should come as no surprise that 3 from Hell will be checking off both of those boxes. After all, it’s a sequel to House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects, two films that certainly didn’t shy away from mutilating and dismembering human bodies.
Speaking with Rue Morgue, star Bill Moseley teases that much more of that “gratuitous violence” is on the way in next year’s film, which promises to make gore-hounds happy.
“All of the people who loved House of 1000 Corpses and Devil’s Rejects are going to have a luau of excitement and happiness when they see 3 from Hell,” the horror icon told the site. “It’s going to be a crowd-pleaser. From what I’ve heard from Rob, he’s very happy and excited about what he’s got, and it’s chockablock with gratuitous violence [laughs], which is great, because lately there have been a lot of good horror movies that just don’t have a lot of that.”
Moseley continued, “I mean, the violence is skillful, it’s effective, but it’s not gratuitous, and that’s what I think the fans are missing. I think we just want a lot of violence for violence’s sake—decapitations, shotguns to the face, just general ass-kickin’ stuff that we’re not really getting much of these day.”
3 from Hell will likely be arriving in early 2019. Moseley reunites with Firefly fam Sid Haig and Sheri Moon Zombie in the film, which also brings back Danny Trejo‘s Rondo.
