Now that we’ve seen the new Halloween… I kid, but seriously, we’ve seen a lot of footage from the David Gordon Green-directed sequel, which slashes into theaters October 19th. I wish we knew less, but alas, here we are. Now, we have two brand new clips (along with the previously released third in which Laurie and her daughter (Judy Greer) are attacked by Michael Myers) that juxtapose each other.
In the first, Jamie Lee Curtis‘ Laurie Strode is confronted by her granddaughter (Andi Matichak) who is sick of hearing about Laurie’s trauma. Laurie pleas with her, and says that she doesn’t care if her mother (Laurie’s daughter) hates her so long as they’re all prepared. Her granddaughter replies, “Say goodbye to Michael and get over it.” Harsh.
The second new clip has a documentary crew talking with Laurie, and while her granddaughter is asking her to forget her demon, Michael Myers, the film crew wants her to confront him. The clip reveals that they’ve triggered Michael by showing him his mask (shown in the trailer) and that they think he’ll speak with Laurie if she were to sit down with him. Will she do it?!
