Gloves off to anyone who says Todd McFarlane isn’t one of the greatest comic book artists of all time. From drawing DC’s “Detective Comics'” and “Inifinity, Inc.”, as well as Marvel’s “Incredible Hulk” and “The Amazing Spider-Man” (introducing us to Venom), he went on to co-found Image Comics and create Spawn, the latter of which is being adapted into a feature film with Blumhouse. This is important to this story because Blumhouse commisioned McFarlane to draw a very special New York Comic Con poster for their Halloween, in theaters Oct. 19.
What’s been gifted to fans of both McFarlane and Halloween is this stark, aggressive, and bleak one-sheet that honors Dr. Loomis’ description of Michael Myers as a young child: “I met this… six-year-old child with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and… the blackest eyes – the Devil’s eyes.”
These truly are the blackest of eyes…
