I’d Rather Be Buried In the UK’s ‘Pet Sematary’ [Poster]
The international poster art for Paramount Pictures’ Pet Sematary is way cooler than the domestic one, although I do love the idea of hanging something on my wall that’s covered in animal bones. Both carry the “Sometimes dead is better” tagline, but this one is just way more striking IMO.
Starry Eyes duo Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch directed this modern take on Stephen King’s work. In the film, John Lithgow takes over the role of Jud Crandall, of course, played in the original film adaptation by the late Fred Gwynne. Three-year-old twins Hugo Lavoie and Lucas Lavoie play Gage Creed, with Jeté Laurence taking on the role of Ellie Creed. Jason Clarke (Winchester) and Amy Seimetz (Alien: Covenant, A Horrible Way to Die) are our new Louis and Rachel Creed.
In Pet Sematary, adapted by Jeff Buhler…
“Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.”
Paramount buries the dead on April 5, 2019.
