Blumhouse and Amazon Partner for Eight Original Genre Films With a Thematic Connection

Blumhouse has been tackling some very interesting projects of late, including the one-episode-per-month, holiday themed Hulu anthology series “Into the Dark,” and tonight we’re learning that they’re doing something somewhat similar with Amazon.

Via Deadline, Amazon Studios has closed an exclusive production deal with Blumhouse Television for a series of eight thriller/darkly-themed feature length productions.

The movies will be released direct-to-service on Amazon Prime Video, and the site notes that there’s some sort of thematic link that connects the films together.

We are delighted Amazon is entrusting Blumhouse to deliver its signature thrills and chills to its global audience through this deal,” said Jason Blum. “This is a great opportunity for Blumhouse Television to empower underrepresented filmmakers offering a fresh take on the dark genres loved by fans the world over.”
