The movies in the DC Universe tend to be a bit dark, but would they ever make a full-on horror movie? Many fans have for years been begging for a truly dark and scary Batman movie, and even James Wan is on board with that idea. In a new chat with Heroic Hollywood, in fact, Wan says that a horror movie centered on Batman is a “potential fantasy” project for him.
“In the past like most people I loved the idea of directing Batman, but a horror version of Batman,” Wan told the site, when they asked if he’d like to tackle any other DC properties. “That would be a potential fantasy of mine, but I feel like he’s been done quite a fair bit. But, I do love the idea of doing an outright scary Batman. I feel like that’d be really cool.”
Wan, of course, directed this month’s Aquaman, which is tracking to make a big splash at the box office. So who knows, perhaps DC will be hungry for whatever he’s got in mind.
