Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, The Amityville Horror) is moving into producing territory and has teamed with IT producers Vertigo Entertainment (who is also doing Friday the 13th with LeBron James) on The Patient Who Nearly Drove Me Out of Medicine for Twentieth Century Fox.
Variety calls it a supernatural horror film about an idealistic young doctor who tries to solve a mystery and heal its most difficult patient. Reynolds will not be starring.
Jasper DeWitt wrote the novella “The Patient Who Nearly Drove Me Out of Medicine,” originally published on Reddit No Sleep.
Reynolds will produce through his Maximum Effort production company along with Roy Lee and Jon Berg through Vertigo.
Lee founded Vertigo with Doug Davison in 2002. His credits include The Ring, The Grudge, It, the Lego movies, and The Departed. Reynolds starred in the Vertigo produced The Voices.
