Yet another genre film set to World Premiere at the forthcoming SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas this March is Dan Berk and Robert Olsen‘s darkly comedic thriller Villains.
Bloody Disgusting has the first look at stars Bill Skarsgård (who starred as Pennywise in It) and Maika Monroe (It Follows, The Guest) who play amateur criminals who, after breaking into a suburban home, stumble upon a dark secret and two sadistic homeowners who will do anything to keep it from getting out.
The film also stars Golden Globe and Emmy winner Kyra Sedgwick (The Possession, The Edge of Seventeen, “The Closer”) and Jeffrey Donovan (Shot Caller, LBJ), who are the presumed homeowners.
Written by Berk and Olsen, the Villains script was on the 2016 Black List.
Tim and Trevor White are producing for Star Thrower, along with production head Allan Mandelbaum, and Garrick Dion is producing for The Realm. BRON’s Aaron L. Gilbert and Creative Wealth Media’s Jason Cloth are executive producers. Rick Rickertsen and Mary Solomon are co-producing.
