While Simon Pegg and Nick Frost gear up for a return to horror in this year’s Slaughterhouse Rulez, we’ve learned this week that frequent collaborator Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Baby Driver) is also gearing up for a horror return, teased in a new chat with Empire!
The site reports that Wright’s next film is “a straight up psychological horror-thriller,” set in London and with a female lead. Wright reportedly told the outlet that both Don’t Look Now and Repulsion are influences on the film.
“I realised I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I’ve spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years,” Wright told Empire. “With Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead you make movies about places you’ve lived in. This movie is about the London I’ve existed in.”
Krysty Wilson-Cairns co-wrote the screenplay, and filming is expected to begin this Summer.
