Things have been decidedly quiet on the Jordan Vogt-Roberts-directed Metal Gear Solid for the past little while. Other than the news that Vogt-Roberts will fully embrace some of the weirder aspects of the franchise, there’s been nothing substantial coming out of the woodwork.
But in an interview with IGN for Netflix’s Triple Frontier, the question was just posed as to which video game-turned-film the cast would want to be a part of. Oscar Isaac‘s response? “Metal Gear Solid, that’s the one. I’m throwing my hat in for that one.”
In fact, the ever-reliable Bosslogic on Twitter had done a mock-up of Isaac as Solid Snake back in August of last year.
That’s not the end of the story, however. Vogt-Roberts took to Twitter last night to talk about BossLogic’s Oscar-Isaac-as-Snake image. He even showed old DMs from August 2018 specifically asking BossLogic to Photoshop Isaac as Snake.
Now before everyone jumps the gun and declares Oscar Isaac one of the sons of Big Boss, Vogt-Roberts does state that casting for Snake “hasn’t even started”, and that “The ball’s in Oscar’s court.”
THIS-MUSING-IS-NOT-NEWS-PSA:
To everyone asking how I feel about Oscar Isaac saying he wants to be Solid Snake.
The full process required to cast an icon hasn’t even started, but..
Ask @Bosslogic where the idea for his brilliant mock up came from.
