The great thing about Nicolas Cage is that he’s constantly attaching himself to precisely the sorts of projects we all want him to be part of, and THR reports that one of his next films (as always, he has approximately 50 “next films” in the works) is a science fiction martial arts movie titled Jiu Jitsu. In it, Cage will battle an alien invader!
Dimitri Logothetis is writing and directing Jiu Jitsu, which is based on the same-named comic book written by Logothetis and Jim McGrath…
“The film features Alain Moussi as a Jiu Jitsu fighter who every six years must face off against an alien invader, Brax. Cage’s character teams up with him in a battle to defeat Brax.”
“After we successfully reintroduced the Kickboxer franchise to a new generation of martial arts fans with the sixth and seventh entries in the series, we set out to up the ante with a sci-fi martial arts franchise that could bring the same kind of intensity and longevity to a new arena,” said Logothetis.
