Bruce Campbell Just Dropped a Mysterious “September” Tease on Twitter So Start Speculating

Bruce Campbell

Over on Twitter this afternoon, Bruce Campbell kicked the ole Speculation Machine (it’s a real thing, I swear) into high gear with what appears to be some kind of teaser for some kind of project of, well, some kind. It’s entirely possible it’s really nothing and he’s just messing with us, but Campbell tweeted out a stylized image of Ash Williams with the text “September…“.

Now before you get too excited, keep in mind that Campbell officially retired from playing Ash last year, but he did also hint last year that some kind of Evil Dead video game project was in the works. He had told us last August, “They are doing a video game. A whole immersive kind of dealio. I’ll be Ash for that, because I wouldn’t want someone else’s voice hamming it up.

Campbell may have been referring to Ash being added to Dead By Daylight, which was confirmed more recently. Or perhaps he was referring to Ash being added into Mortal Kombat 11 as a playable fighter, rumored but unconfirmed at this time. It’s entirely possible that if Ash is indeed planned as a MK11 DLC character, that could be released in September. Or maybe there’s a full-on Evil Dead game coming soon, which could very well be the September tease.

We also know Campbell is hosting the new “Ripley’s” series, but that arrives in June. There’s also the Netflix animated zombie series “The Last Kids on Earth” launching later this year, which Campbell is doing voice work for. But why tease that with an image of Ash?

The only other thing we’ve heard of him working on recently was a new book, which could be what today’s tease is for. Or we’re off base entirely. Or, well, who the hell even knows.

Any guesses?! Sound off below!

Dev Patel’s ‘Monkey Man’ Is Now Available to Watch at Home!

After pulling in $28 million at the worldwide box office this month, director (and star) Dev Patel’s critically acclaimed action-thriller Monkey Man is now available to watch at home.

You can rent Monkey Man for $19.99 or digitally purchase the film for $24.99!

Monkey Man is currently 88% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with Bloody Disgusting’s head critic Meagan Navarro awarding the film 4.5/5 stars in her review out of SXSW back in March.

Meagan raves, “While the violence onscreen is palpable and painful, it’s not just the exquisite fight choreography and thrilling action set pieces that set Monkey Man apart but also its political consciousness, unique narrative structure, and myth-making scale.”

“While Monkey Man pays tribute to all of the action genre’s greats, from the Indonesian action classics to Korean revenge cinema and even a John Wick joke or two, Dev Patel’s cultural spin and unique narrative structure leave behind all influences in the dust for new terrain,” Meagan’s review continues.

She adds, “Monkey Man presents Dev Patel as a new action hero, a tenacious underdog with a penetrating stare who bites, bludgeons, and stabs his way through bodies to gloriously bloody excess. More excitingly, the film introduces Patel as a strong visionary right out of the gate.”

Inspired by the legend of Hanuman, Monkey Man stars Patel as Kid, an anonymous young man who ekes out a meager living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he is beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash. After years of suppressed rage, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city’s sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of retribution to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.

Monkey Man is produced by Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions.
