Rumor: Sony Desperately Wants Venom to Appear in Third ‘Spider-Man’

One of the greatest rivalries in the history of comics is that of Peter Park/Spider-Man and Eddie Brock/Venom. The two become entangled when Parker returned from the Secret Wars boasting a brand new all-black costume, made from an alien symbiote. Parker rejected the alien’s attempt to bond, which led is directly to Parker’s nemesis, Eddie Brock. This birthed Venom. However, in the film adaptation, the symbiote is an extraterrestrial being that was brought to Earth by the Life Foundation. Its connection to Peter Parker and Spider-Man are still unknown. Yet, Sony Pictures hopes to bridge the two franchises in the near future.

Roger Wardell, who is often right on the money when it comes to MCU scoops, dropped this bomb when debunking rumors that Deadpool may appear in Marvel’s third Spider-Man:

Last fall’s blockbuster hit Venom concluded with the promise of Carnage, a vicious character who is the nemesis of both Venom and Spider-Man. Following the potential events in Venom 2, it would make a ton of sense for Brock/Venom to reach out to Peter Parker for help in the third Spider-Man, especially if there are legit plans to canonize the two franchises. Things could get exciting pretty in the very near future.
