Filmmakers can’t help but dig at Netflix, who doesn’t market their films the same way as a major studio. In the case of The Perfection, the streaming service did a pretty great job of creating hype and getting director Richard Shepard in front of as many journalists as possible (read our interview). Yet, the art left much to be desired, looking like something you’d see in Redbox at your local grocery store. Shepard agreed, sharing this stunning shot from the film that he believes should have been the film’s official poster art. I couldn’t agree more, even if it’s from a pinnacle moment in the film.
The Perfection stars Get Out’s Allison Williams and Dear White People‘s Logan Browning, with Steven Weber as the duo’s mentor. Trace raved in his review that the film “delivers twisted, shocking and hilarious perfection.“
