Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will be playing Ed and Lorraine Warren in this month’s Annabelle Comes Home, and they’re also reuniting next year in The Conjuring 3. James Wan has handed over the directorial reins to Michael Chaves (The Curse of La Llorona), and we’ve learned straight from Farmiga that filming has kicked off this week on the third Conjuring!
“Conjuring 3 will be a doozy,” Farmiga recently told EW. “It will be big. So for me, visiting these characters [in Annabelle Comes Home], it’s like practicing your scales and doing a few arpeggios before having to dive deep into the next one. Because the next one is massive.”
The Conjuring 3 will be about a man on trial for murder who claims he was possessed by a demon.
Producer James Wan recently said of the real-life case, “I think it’s the first time in America’s history where the defendant used possessions as a reason… as an excuse.”
The Conjuring 3 is set for release on September 11, 2020.
