‘Daniel Isn’t Real’ Makes an Imaginary Friend This December

Adam Egypt Mortimer‘s (Some Kind of HateHolidaysDaniel Isn’t Real might just be the best horror movie playing at the SXSW Film Festival this year,” Trace wrote in his review of the film earlier this year, and we’ve learned today that the Patrick Schwarzenegger-starring film will hit limited theaters and VOD platforms on December 6th via Samuel Goldwyn Films. It will then release on Shudder at a later date.

In the film Trace also called “unique and terrifying”, troubled college freshman Luke (Miles Robbins) suffers a violent family trauma and resurrects his childhood imaginary friend Daniel (Schwarzenegger) to help him cope. Charismatic and full of manic energy, Daniel helps Luke to achieve his dreams, before pushing him to the very edge of sanity and into a desperate struggle for control of his mind, and his soul.”

Sasha Lane, Hannah Marks and Mary Stuart Masterson also star.

Producers include Daniel Noah, Josh C. Waller, Lisa Whalen and Elijah Wood.
