Announced at Comic-Con, Marvel’s upcoming Blade reboot will be part of the cinematic universe’s Phase 5, which means it’ll be quite a while before we actually see the character back up on the big screen. When he does come back, it’ll be Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali taking over the role from Wesley Snipes, and Snipes is totally cool with that. As are we.
In any event, the Ali-starring reboot of Blade has naturally spawned all kinds of fan art already, including one particularly cool faux movie poster that artist Olly Gibbs shared on Twitter.
The poster uses the title treatment shown off by Marvel at Comic-Con, dressing Ali up in the iconic Blade costume and placing him against a fittingly blood-red background.
As you may recall, the original poster for the first Blade movie starring Wesley Snipes looked similar to this, so it’s likely Gibbs was paying tribute to that art. Check it out below!
