Now available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD, Robert Rodriguez‘s Alita: Battle Angel out-performed expectations by making over $400 million worldwide earlier this year, but given the film’s massive $170 million production budget, whether or not we get any sequels may depend on home video sales. And then there’s that whole Disney/Fox merger to worry about.
But for what it’s worth, star Rosa Salazar is eager to reprise the role – for many years to come.
Salazar tells Slash Film this week, “I would play Alita ‘til my last breath. I would, and thanks to the performance capture technology, I probably could.”
“Buy those Blu-rays,” Salazar added, while noting that she hasn’t heard anything yet.
Alita: Battle Angel was produced by James Cameron, and he certainly has the pull to make sequels happen if he’s interested. But for now, we’ve got nothing to report on that front.
