Netflix Exorcism Movie The Deliverance

Writer Todd Farmer and director Patrick Lussier (exclusive interview), who collaborated on My Bloody Valentine 3D and Drive Angry, reteamed on Trick, a brand new Halloween-themed horror film that will release in theaters and on VOD platforms October 18th via RLJE Films! Deadline first reported the news.

The film stars Omar Epps in the main role of Detective Mike Denver, a man obsessed with a killer that has eluded him.

Trick also stars Ellen Adair (Showtime’s “Homeland” and “Billions,” USA’s “The Sinner”) as Sheriff Lisa Jayne, the sheriff in the small town of Benton who has always considered Detective Denver as her mentor. Cheryl Winston, the only survivor of the latest round of killings in her small town, will be played by Kristina Reyes (“Blindspot,” “Shades of Blue”). Talbott is played by horror legend Tom Atkins, and Jamie Kennedy(Scream) will play Dr. Steven.

The story centers on an elusive serial killer, who descends upon a small town annually.

“He is responsible for gruesome murders year after year, each seemingly unrelated. No one believes this could be the same killer. Detective Denver has faced Trick once before, having -shot and killed him. Or so everyone keeps telling him. However, Denver knows Trick is still out there, and he’s coming back for revenge.”

I spoke with Lussier back in May about the film where he revealed some details about the film’s slasher, Trick Weaver, who kills as performance art. Click the link for all the goodies.

‘She Loved Blossoms More’ – Wild First Look at Tribeca Movie Enters a Psychedelic Hellscape

One of the genre films set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in June is the sci-fi/drama She Loved Blossoms More, and a bonkers first-look photo has arrived this week (above).

Additionally, Variety reports this afternoon that Yellow Veil Pictures has secured world sales on She Loved Blossoms More, billed as a “family drama in science fiction disguise.”

In the film, “three brothers build an unusual time-machine in order to bring their long-dead mother back to life. When their delusional father comes into the picture, the experiments go awry, and they descend into a psychedelic hellscape where the past and present fuse in a comedic yet deeply disturbing exploration of grief.”

Yannis Veslemes directed the film and co-wrote with Dimitris Emmanouilidis.

Veslemes said in a statement shared by Variety, “[She Loved Blossoms More is] a ballad for the defeated, a comedy for the accursed, a moral tale for us all and our beloved families.”

She Loved Blossoms More is the first film we’ve onboarded at script stage, and it’s been quite amazing to see it come alive,” said Hugues Barbier of Yellow Veil Pictures. “We couldn’t be more proud of Yannis’ vision and the amazing team he has around him. Blossoms is an emotional thrill ride and a calling card for one of the most exciting new filmmakers.”
