Nicholas McCarthy, the director of The Pact, At the Devil’s Door, the creepy “Easter” segment of Holidays and this year’s The Prodigy, has set up his next horror film, Deadline reports.
McCarthy wrote and will direct possession film White Smoke.
White Smoke follows a renowned neuroscientist who is summoned by an inner circle of cardinals to diagnose a bizarre case of possession inside the Vatican.
“The script is based on an original screenplay by Mark Bianculli and Jeff Richard,” Deadline notes. The film comes from a deal between ACE Entertainment and Paramount Players.
