A hidden message – seemingly a marriage proposal – has been discovered in Predator 2 nearly 30 years after the release of Stephen Hopkins‘ sci-fi-horror sequel!
The good folks at AvP Galaxy have shared a newly posted YouTube video that highlights the discovery of cryptic text hiding within the sparking effects of the Predator.
In the slaughterhouse sequence in which the City Hunter’s cloaking malfunctions, “marry me, Poynter” appears in the sparks on the Predator’s wrist gauntlet. We went through the DVD in super slow motion this morning and we can confirm that this text does indeed appear.
As the site notes, “Donald Poynter was credited for Spark Animation on Predator 2,” so this could be a proposal to his significant other or simply a fun little hidden gag for laughs.
I think Poynter is just adding his signature to his work. What do you think? Take a look below.
