This past summer, Tom Atkins let it slip in an interview that Charles Cyphers was set to reprise his role from the original Halloween in the upcoming Halloween Kills, and a new photo from the set seems to confirm that scoop from Atkins. Shared by the Twitter account Halloween Fans, the photo shows Cyphers on set with a Brackett name tag affixed to his uniform!
Cyphers played Sheriff Leigh Brackett in both Halloween and Halloween II, the sheriff of Haddonfield and the father of Michael Myers victim Annie Brackett.
The actor hasn’t appeared in a film since 2007’s horror movie Methodic.
Next year’s movie will also star original Halloween actress Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace, with Anthony Michael Hall taking over the role of Tommy Doyle. Robert Longstreet is playing Lonnie Elam, and Nancy Stephens will reprise the role of Nurse Marion.
Jamie Lee Curtis is of course back as Laurie Strode.
Halloween Kills will arrive in theaters on October 16, 2020 followed by Halloween Ends on October 15, 2021, with David Gordon Green returning to direct both films.
