SpectreVision and director Richard Stanley‘s Nicolas Cage-starring H.P. Lovecraft adaptation Color Out of Space, which just got a wild official trailer yesterday, has been set for release on January 24, 2020, and if SpectreVision producers Elijah Wood and Daniel Noah have their way, it’ll be the first of a few Lovecraft adaptations from the company.
The duo teased their early plans in a chat with Coming Soon this week, telling the site that they’re working with Richard Stanley to “build out a Lovecraft universe.”
Coming Soon adds that SpectreVision plans on adapting Lovecraft’s The Dunwich Horror, and that if there’s enough interest, they’d like to make “at least three” Lovecraft films.
“Lovecraft is possibly the most adapted horror author ever,” Noah told the site. “But there’s really never been a totally faithful adaptation of any of his works.”
