“I imagined you. I can make you go away.”
In Adam Egypt Mortimer‘s (Some Kind of Hate, Holidays) Daniel Isn’t Real (review of the film), troubled college freshman Luke (Miles Robbins) suffers a violent family trauma and resurrects his childhood imaginary friend Daniel (Patrick Schwarzenegger) to help him cope. Charismatic and full of manic energy, Daniel helps Luke to achieve his dreams, before pushing him to the very edge of sanity and into a desperate struggle for control of his mind, and his soul.
Bloody Disgusting has an exclusive clip from the film in which Luke confronts Daniel, only to have his imaginary friend throw it back in his face: “I set you free.”
Trace called the film “unique and terrifying” out of the SXSW World Premiere this past March.
Samuel Goldwyn Films will release Daniel Isn’t Real in theaters, on digital and on demand December 6th.
