One of the most talked-about aspects of Tim Miller’s Terminator Dark: Fate was the handling of Edward Furlong‘s return as John Connor, brought back to the screen with digital trickery only to be killed off by a T-800 one year after the Judgment Day he and his mother helped prevent. It was James Cameron’s idea, and many fans were far less than pleased.
But what does Edward Furlong himself think of the surprising and controversial scene, which prevented the actor from reprising the role proper in this year’s sequel to T2?
“They smoked my ass!” Furlong commented in a new interview posted on Alex Leyba’s YouTube channel this week.
He continued, “That was the role. I did it for a day – I shot for one day. And, yeah, we did some CGI. They paid me. So, I mean, ya know. It kinda bums me out. Cause I’d love to do a whole one and make a shit-ton of money. I would love to do more, but we’ll see what happens.”
