The first film I’m truly excited about in 2020 is Underwater, which hails from The Signal director William Eubank.
Looking like a mix between James Cameron’s The Abyss and Ridley Scott’s Alien, the film follows a crew of underwater researchers who must scramble to safety after an earthquake devastates their subterranean laboratory. After digging, “something” has awakened.
In this first clip, a Ripley-esque Kristen Stewart laughs at a plan laid out by Vincent Cassel, another phenomenal actor who you may remember from Sheitan, Black Swan, Irreversible, and Eastern Promises. There’s little hope, but it appears the crew has no other choice.
