In Johannes Roberts aquatic horror sequel 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, four teen girls diving in a ruined underwater city enter the territory of the deadliest shark species in a labyrinth of submerged caves.
The film’s Michael Myers-inspired albino sharks are normal-sized, which is important to note when looking at these Chinese posters for the film, opening this weekend.
They’re all pretty awesome, especially the one of the enormous shark under the boat. Only, there aren’t any massive sharks in 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, which makes it a headscratcher – at least until you look up the box office numbers for The Meg, which took in $150M during its Chinese release. It looks as if the distributor is trying to sell this bite-sized shark thriller as a mega-budget summer blockbuster.
