Bloody Disgusting is gearing up for our next production, this time teaming with Texas-based movie studio Cinestate and Fangoria on the Halloween-set horror The Sisters of Samhain.
In the film, a group of friends must team up with a witch on Halloween night to prevent a rogue coven from bringing about the end of the world.
There’s an incredibly exciting team in place for The Sisters of Samhain, which was penned by Ben Collins & Luke Piotrowski, the duo behind our V/H/S spinoff, SiREN, as well as the phenomenal coming-of-age thriller Super Dark Times. Collins and Piotrowski also saw their The Night House, directed by David Bruckner, sell for $12mm to Searchlight at the ongoing Sundance Film Festival.
The duo reteams with director Gregg Bishop, who helmed SiREN, as well as the micro-indie The Other Side and the awesome Dance of the Dead.
Dallas Sonnier (Bone Tomahawk, VFW, The Standoff at Sparrow Creek, Satanic Panic, Puppet Master: Littlest Reich) & Amanda Presmyk (VFW, The Standoff at Sparrow Creek, Satanic Panic) are producing for Cinestate and Fangoria, with Final Destination‘s Craig Perry & Sheila Hanahan Taylor of Practical Pictures also producing with Andy Cohen (Gifted) of Grade A Entertainment.
Tom Owen & Brad Miska (V/H/S, V/H/S/2, Southbound, SiREN) are also producing with Bloody Disgusting’s Editor in chief John Squires co-producing.
Phil Nobile Jr (Horror Noire) and Danielle Cox (The Standoff at Sparrow Creek) are executive producing. David Guglielmo is casting.
Update (May 14, 2020 @ 1:15 pm pst): Bloody Disgusting has decided to put their involvement in this project on indefinite hiatus.
Update (May 14, 2020 @ 8:38 am pst): Cinestate executive producer Adam Donaghey’s name has been removed from this article to reflect that he is no longer working on this production nor for Cinestate. “He’s no longer working on any of the CINE / FANGO projects, including this one, and no longer working with us in any capacity,” said Dallas Sonnier in a statement. “He has resigned from all of the movie projects.”
