If you’re gonna make a wrestling-themed movie, you damn sure need to cast some actual wrestlers in it. Directors BJ Colangelo and Zach Shildwachter did just that for their upcoming horror film Powerbomb, which stars independent wrestler Matt Cross as well as AEW’s Britt Baker. The pro wrestling horror film arrives next month, and we’ve got the trailer today.
Powerbomb is headed to VOD platforms and DVD on April 14th from Indican Pictures.
“Powerbomb is the story of an independent wrestler on the verge of breaking into the big time, but he’s contemplating leaving it all behind to spend more time with his family. When our wrestler’s biggest fan hears the news, he decides to take matters into his own hands to ensure that his champion gets to the top by any means necessary.”
Powerbomb also features Gregory Iron (the world’s only professional wrestler with cerebral palsy), John Taddeo (Impact TV’s “Supercop Dick Justice”), midwest underground film favorites Wes Allen (The Legend of Holcomb Road, Deathbone, Halloween Spookies), Roni Jonah (Girl/Girl Scene, The Hornet’s Disciple and the Scars She Left, Dagger Kiss) and Cash Allen (Halloween Spookies, The Legend of Holcomb Road, A Summer to Remember).
The film was successfully crowd-funded with Indiegogo.
