With the entire movie industry in limbo due to the deadly coronavirus pandemic, it should probably come as no surprise that even summer releases are now being messed with.
Deadline reports that James Wan‘s new horror film Malignant, which had been set for release on August 14th, 2020, has been pushed off the schedule by Warner Bros.
Wonder Woman 1984 has been plugged into that August 14th slot by WB, which would explain the move. At this time, Malignant has not been provided with a new release date.
Described as an original thriller not based on any existing IP, we’re told that the film is going to be part of the Giallo sub-genre.
Malignant‘s plot is being kept under wraps.
The cast includes Maddie Hasson, Mckenna Grace, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Abel, George Young, Ingrid Bisu, Michole Briana White and Jacqueline McKenzie.
Wan directed off a screenplay by Akela Cooper and JT Petty with story by Wan and Ingrid Bisu.
