Clive Barker’s ‘Books of Blood’ Coming to Hulu in October With Brand New Movie [Poster]

Published

Not to be confused with the 2009 film Book of Blood, which adapted a couple of Clive Barker‘s Books of Blood stories, a brand new adaptation of those tales is headed our way this Halloween season with Hulu‘s Books of Blood, a feature film anthology that’s just been dated for premiere on October 7. In addition, the official poster art has been unleashed.

Announced last year, Brannon Braga (“The Orville”) directed Books of Blood for Hulu, named after the six volumes of original Clive Barker stories that were published in the mid-’80s. Braga also co-wrote and executive produced the film, with Seth MacFarlane on board to executive produce alongside him. Here’s the plot synopsis we were recently provided with:

“Written by Braga and Adam Simon (Salem) based on a short story by Barker with contributing original material, Books of Blood takes a journey into uncharted and forbidden territory through three tales tangled in space and time.”

The previously announced cast includes Andy McQueen (Fahrenheit 451), Freda Foh Shen (Ad Astra), Nicholas Campbell (Da Vinci’s Inquest), Anna Friel (Marcella), Britt Robertson (For the People), Rafi Gavron (A Star Is Born) and Yul Vazquez (Midnight, Texas).

As you may recall, Hulu was originally developing Books of Blood as a TV series.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.
