Franchise Creator Says Next ‘Final Destination’ is Still in Development
In the ever-changing world we’re now living in, it’s hard to keep tabs on what’s going down in Hollywood. Thankfully, many filmmakers take to social media to update their fans.
We broke the news in January 2019 that Final Destination was being retooled with Saw sequel writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan set to pen the script. Franchise creator Jeffrey Reddick and series producer Craig Perry revealed in a later interview that it’s actually canon and takes place within the existing Final Destination universe.
Almost a year removed from the update, Reddick continues to talk about the forthcoming sequel, even telling fans on Twitter that development will continue once business picks back up.

In New Line Cinema’s Final Destination (2000), after a teenager (Devon Sawa) has a terrifying vision of him and his friends dying in a plane crash, he prevents the accident only to have Death hunt them down, one by one.
“We’re toying with having it take place in the world of first responders: EMTs, firemen and police,” Perry revealed to Bloody back in March just prior to the pandemic making national headlines. “These people deal with death on the front lines every day, and make choices that can cause people to live or die.”
Talk about being timely, which could lead to further development. Watch this spot for more updates as we learn them. The good news here is that Death can’t die and there appears to be no true final destination in sight.
The killer tomatoes are back in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, and the offiical poster for the brand new movie has been unleashed tonight.
Additionally, we’ve learned that the film’s theatrical release is set for this August, with a panel set for San Diego Comic-Con this month featuring the world premiere of the trailer.

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence will be released in select cities across the US beginning August 7th in major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Diego, and others, and expanding to further locations throughout the month.

The film features an ensemble cast led by franchise icon John Astin (The Addams Family), reprising his role as Professor Gangreen, comedy legend David Koechner (Anchorman), Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), horror favorite Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier), comedy veteran Dan Bakkedahl (Veep), Myrna Velasco (Star Wars Resistance), Vernée Watson (Shrinking, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), and Paul Bates (Coming to America).
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes launched in 1979, followed by 1988’s Return of the Killer Tomatoes, 1991’s Killer Tomatoes Strike Back, and 1992’s Killer Tomatoes Eat France.
The franchise also spawned an animated series in 1990.
