‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Moved Up Two Months; Will Battle on March 26, 2021!

Warner Bros. Pictures is kicking off the year strong, not only teasing their R-rated ultra-violent Mortal Kombat, but also making a monstrous date shift for the hotly anticipated Godzilla vs. Kong.

The two epic titans will do battle on March 26, 2021, two months earlier than the originally scheduled May date. As with Mortal Kombat, Godzilla vs. Kong will open in theaters and on HBO Max.

The epic adventure will pit two of the greatest icons in motion picture history against one another – the fearsome Godzilla and the mighty Kong – with humanity caught in the balance…

“In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.”

Godzilla vs. Kong was directed by Adam Wingard, who helmed Bloody Disgusting’s A Horrible Way to Die, and parts of V/H/S and V/H/S/2, as well as The Guest, You’re Next, and Blair Witch, and features actors Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall and Kyle Chandler.

As of this writing, the following films are also arriving in theaters later this year simultaneously with HBO Max: Dune, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, James Wan’s Malignant, the aforementioned Mortal Kombat, and more.

I was going to get into the nitty-gritty of the financial implications of this deal, but figured, who cares, just give me some massive fucking King Kong and Godzilla action ASAP.
