New Photos of ‘Halloween’ Star Andi Matichak in RLJE’s ‘Son’
Bloody Disgusting has a pair of new images from Ivan Kavanagh’s horror feature Son, which both feature Halloween and Halloween Kills star Andi Matichak.
In Son, “After a mysterious group of individuals breaks into Laura’s home and attempts to steal her eight-year-old son, David, the two of them flee town in search of safety. Breaut soon after the failed kidnapping, David becomes extremely ill, suffering from increasingly sporadic psychosis and convulsions. Following her maternal instincts to save him, Laura commits unspeakable acts to keep him alive but soon, she must decide how far she is willing to go to save her son.”
Emile Hirsch (Freaks, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood) also stars.
Kavanagh, who also directed the psychological horror The Canal, wrote the screenplay. Thanks to Fabien M. for sending the images.
RLJE Films will release Son in limited theaters and on VOD platforms March 5, 2021.
Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.
The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.
Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.
Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”
Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.
Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.
THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
