Nicolas Cage’s Dracula from ‘Renfield’ Movie Has Already Spawned Fan Art and Even a Toy!
It was only just yesterday that a couple photos from the set of Universal’s Renfield hit the net, with People sharing our first-look at Nicolas Cage‘s unique new take on Dracula.
The upcoming film, to be clear, isn’t a Dracula movie but rather a film centered on Dracula’s henchman Renfield, who is being played this time around by Nicholas Hoult.
In any event, it’s of course Cage’s Dracula that is garnering the lion’s share of the attention in regards to this project thus far, with fan art already starting to hit social media.
In fact, Readful Things has already gone ahead and made a custom “Nicolas Cage as Dracula” action figure, which you’ll find below along with another piece of fan art.
Renfield comes to theaters on April 14, 2023, based on an idea by Robert Kirkman (“The Walking Dead”) and said to be a “modern-day adventure story that is comedic in tone.”
Chris McKay (The Tomorrow War) is directing the movie.
“The film centers on Renfield (Hoult), who has grown sick and tired of his centuries as Dracula’s (Cage) lackey. The henchman finds a new lease on life and maybe even redemption when he falls for feisty, perennially angry traffic cop Rebecca Quincy (Awkwafina).”
Nicolas Cage recently teased his Dracula in Renfield, noting that the character’s movements have been inspired by horror films including Ringu and even James Wan’s Malignant!
