Step Inside Jordan Peele’s ‘Nope’ With New VR Experience in “Horizon Worlds” on Meta Quest 2

While we wait for Jordan Peele‘s Nope to arrive in theaters on July 22, the marketing campaign is in full swing, with a VR experience now available to take you inside the movie.

Starting today, you can now visit NOPE World: by Monkeypaw Productions in “Horizon Worlds” on Meta Quest 2. The official press release teases the virtual reality experience, “Explore a recreation of Haywood’s Ranch, a setting featured in the film (don’t worry, this is a spoiler-free experience!), as well as several mini-games and other interactive elements.”

“The multi-world VR experience begins with Monkeypaw Productions: All Aboard, in which you’ll find yourself as a passenger on the Monkeypaw train before traveling to the other worlds. Inside, you can walk around the cabins and find Easter eggs from the movies NOPEGet Out, and Us.

“You’ll then have a chance to visit NOPE World: by Monkeypaw Productions.”

“Through this VR experience we’ve developed with Universal and Monkeypaw, people can fully immerse themselves in Jordan Peele’s cinematic artistry,” said Katie Jones, NA Studio Partnerships Lead at Meta. “This is a unique opportunity for moviegoers to explore this world with fellow fans, and for our partners to connect with their audiences in innovative ways.”

“Meta and Monkeypaw worked with a diverse team of veteran creators from the “Horizon Worlds” community to bring this VR experience to life: Ashley Briley (Ashes2Ashes2)Matt Torres (Tellous), and Samantha Nunoo (SammyX09). They weren’t given any information about the plot or themes in the film outside of the trailers, which allowed them to build NOPE World as a fun, spoiler-free experience.”

“Monkeypaw has been great at providing feedback and helping us bring in details from the movie,” says Matt Torres. “We’ve watched the trailers so many times and got to bring in elements that we loved. Meta has also been key in helping us hone in on ideas for the world. It’s a great place to hang out and experience what it’s like being at Haywood Ranch.”

“Both All Aboard and NOPE World are out now in”Horizon Worlds,” which you can download on Quest 2 for free. But this is just the beginning for fans: Two additional VR experiences, Get Out World: by Monkeypaw Productions and Us World: by Monkeypaw Productions, are coming later this summer as well. Stay tuned.”
