Universal and Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions are getting set to unleash director Dev Patel’s Monkey Man, which has been earning rave reviews on the festival scene.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her SXSW review for Bloody Disgusting, “Monkey Man presents Dev Patel as a new action hero, a tenacious underdog with a penetrating stare who bites, bludgeons, and stabs his way through bodies to gloriously bloody excess. More excitingly, the film introduces Patel as a strong visionary right out of the gate.”

“Patel’s assured, audacious vision delivers an epic crowd-pleaser of mythic proportions,” Meagan’s 4.5 star rave review continues. “Run, don’t walk, to theaters for this one.”
