He’s not alone anymore. Harley Quinn joins the Joker in Joker: Folie à Deux, director Todd Phillips’ hotly anticipated sequel to the billion dollar box office hit Joker (2019).

The sequel brings Joker back to theaters on October 4, 2024, and the official trailer has debuted out of CinemaCon tonight. Click “play” below to begin this deranged love story!

Joaquin Phoenix will be joined by Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in the sequel, which has been rated “R” for “strong violence, language, sexuality, and brief full nudity.”

Arthur Fleck is at Arkham Asylum after the events of the first movie, where he meets Gaga’s Harley Quinn. That’s of course where they each find their twisted soul mate, and this first teaser trailer from Warner Bros. shows us how that unlikely love story blossoms in the most unlikely of places. Is this all in Fleck’s damaged mind? Is Quinn a fantasy of his own making?

Either way, we’re thinking Joker’s going to end up having the last laugh…

The 2019 movie amassed more than $1 billion at the global box office and earned 11 Academy Awards nominations, landing a Best Actor win for Phoenix and Best Original score for composer Hildur Guðnadóttir. This Halloween season’s Joker: Folie à Deux is said to be a “jukebox musical,” meaning a musical filled with existing songs rather than original songs.

Folie à Deux” is the term meaning “shared psychosis” or “shared delusional disorder,” which is surely a reference to the twisted relationship between Joker and Harley Quinn.

Zazie Beetz will reprise the role of Sophie Dumond from Joker, while Brendan Gleeson (“Mr. Mercedes”) and Catherine Keener (Get Out, “Brand New Cherry Flavor”) also star.

Todd Phillips and Scott Silver wrote the sequel to the hit 2019 movie.

The new horror movie from New Line Cinema and director Zach Cregger (Barbarian), the upcoming Weapons is assembling an impressive cast, with Josh Brolin (Dune 2) and Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel) recently signing on. Deadline reports today that Alden Ehrenreich (Cocaine Bear) is the latest actor to join the cast of Cregger’s new movie.

The upcoming Weapons is from writer/director Zach Cregger, who will also produce alongside his Barbarian producing team: Roy Lee of Vertigo and J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules of BoulderLight Pictures. Vertigo’s Miri Yoon also produces.

The Hollywood Reporter teases, “Plot details for Weapons are being kept holstered but it is described as a multi and inter-related story horror epic that tonally is in the vein of Magnolia, the 1999 actor-crammed showcase from filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson.”

Cregger was a founding member and writer for the New York comedy troupe “The Whitest Kids U’Know,” which he started while attending The School of Visual Arts. The award-winning group’s self-titled sketch comedy show ran for five seasons on IFC-TV and Fuse. He was also a series regular on Jimmy Fallon’s NBC series “Guys with Kids” and the TBS hit series “Wrecked,” and was featured in a recurring role on the NBC series “About a Boy.”

Weapons will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures.
