After a 14 year absence, the hit Final Destination franchise will return to the big screen next year with sixth installment Final Destination: Bloodlines, and we now have a release date.
Final Destination: Bloodlines will crash into theaters on May 16, 2025!
Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein (Freaks) are directing the sixth installment, which doesn’t yet have an official plot synopsis. But here’s what we do know about FD: Bloodlines…
Final Destination 6 will be written by Lori Evans Taylor (“Wicked Wicked Games”) and Guy Busick (Scream), with Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) producing.
The cast for the hit franchise’s sixth installment includes Teo Briones (“Chucky”), Brec Bassinger (“Stargirl”), Kaitlyn Santa Juana (The Friendship Game), Richard Harmon (Grave Encounters 2), Anna Lore, Owen Patrick Joyner, Max Lloyd-Jones (The Book Of Boba Fett), Rya Kihlstedt (Obi Wan Kenobi), and Tinpo Lee (The Manor).
Late horror legend Tony Todd is also expected to return as William Bludworth, a mysterious character who has a history of making appearances in the Final Destination movies.
Producers on the new movie for New Line Cinema also include Dianne McGunigle (Cop Car) as well as Final Destination producers Craig Perry and Sheila Hanahan Taylor.
Each film in the franchise centers on “Death” hunting down young friends who survive a mass casualty event, and we assume the sixth film will chart a similar course. Stay tuned.
The franchise kicked off back in 2000 with the original Final Destination from creator Jeffrey Reddick, spawned from an unproduced spec script for “The X-Files.” James Wong directed that franchise-starting first movie, with sequels following in 2003, 2006, 2009, and 2011.
Familiar faces that have popped up in the saga over the years include Devon Sawa, Ali Larter, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Mykelti Williamson, Emma Bell, and Courtney B. Vance.
