‘Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma’ Teaser Trailer – Hannah Einbinder & Gillian Anderson Fall Into a Blood-Soaked World of Desire

If the teaser trailer for Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma gets too real, you can always turn it off.

Described as “Portrait of a Lady on Fire set in a Friday the 13th sequel,” the mind-bending sapphic slasher is written and directed by Jane Schoenbrun (I Saw the TV Glow).

Experience a new kind of horror remake when the film hits theaters on August 7 via Mubi.

After years of slapdash sequels and waning fandom, the Camp Miasma slasher franchise is handed over to an enthusiastic young director for resurrection. But when she visits the original movie’s star, a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.

Hannah Einbinder (“Hacks”) and Gillian Anderson (“The X-Files”) star with Jack Haven (I Saw the TV Glow) as Little Death.

Amanda Fix (Lowlifes), Arthur Conti (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), Eva Victor (Sorry Baby), Zach Cherry (“Severance”), Sarah Sherman (“Saturday Night Live”), Patrick Fischler (“Twin Peaks”), Dylan Baker (Trick ‘r Treat), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Scream), Kevin McDonald (“The Kids in the Hall”), and Quintessa Swindell (Black Adam) round out the cast.

The teaser features a clip of a new, original song by Alex G (I Saw the TV Glow) featuring Paul Buchanan of The Blue Nile on vocals.

Mubi and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment produce.

Schoenbrun will also publish their debut novel, Public Access Afterworld, later this year via Hogarth, and they’re developing an adaptation of the horror comic “Black Hole” for Netflix.
