“Baby Reindeer” breakout Nava Mau and genre favorite Stephen Lang (Don’t Breathe) will star in the comedic thriller The Dregs, Deadline reports.
Shohreh Aghdashloo (“The Expanse”), Piper Curda (The Wretched), Maddie Phillips (“Gen V”), Max Lloyd-Jones (Final Destination: Bloodlines), and Charlie Gillespie (Totally Killer) also star.
The film centers on a friends’ trip to the Italian Alps that takes a terrifying turn after they drink a cursed bottle of Grappa.
Lang plays the antagonist, a bitter Alpine waiter whose family recipe for Grappa involves alchemy and witchcraft.
Writer-director Connor Martin makes his feature debut on the project, which recently wrapped production in Italy and Canada.
Marta Pozzan, Zach Tinker (The Quarry), David Goren, Desiree Staples, Evan Bittencourt (“Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists”), Kheon Clarke (“SkyMed”), Fletcher Donovan (Love Hard), Quinnie Vu (“Riverdale”), and Mike Stern round out the cast.
Stern produces through Astral Plane, along with Martin, Tinker, Yasir Anwar, and Marco Allegri. Executive producers include Martin Metz, Jacory Gums, Maurice Antonio, Andrew Etzel, Roland Hoch, Elizabeth Mozilo, Joel Michaely, Desiree Staples, and MYRA Productions.
