Filmmakers Michael Shanks (Together) and Adam McKay (Don’t Look Up, Anchorman) are teaming up on a mysterious sci-fi comedy.
THR reports that Sony Pictures has picked up the film, which will be written by Shanks with McKay attached to direct.
McKay and Todd Schulman are producing via their Hyperobject Industries (Don’t Look Up, The Menu) alongside Andrew Mittman of 1.21 Pictures (Together). 1.21’s Kai Dolbashian will executive produce.
Up next from Shanks is Hotel, Hotel, Hotel, Hotel, a mind-bending sci-fi thriller also produced by McKay and Schulman.
Written and directed by Shanks, that film is set up at A24 with Daniel Kaluuya attached to star.
