‘Alien: Earth’ Creator Noah Hawley to Remake Argentine Horror ‘Terrified’

Emmy-winning “Fargo” and “Alien: Earth” creator Noah Hawley will direct a remake of the Argentine horror film Terrified, THR has learned.

Hawley is developing the project with Demián Rugna (When Evil Lurks), writer-director of the 2017 original, known in its native Spanish as Aterrados.

Warner Bros. is behind the reimagining, with Hawley producing under his 26 Keys banner.

Released in the US by Shudder, Terrified centers on a police officer and a series of paranormal researchers and investigators who attempt to get to the bottom of supernatural occurrences that are centered in one neighborhood in Buenos Aires.

“Some horror films are lucky to nail one iconic scare moment; Terrified has at least five,” Meagan Navarro wrote in her review for Bloody Disgusting. “This nonstop barrage of scares and super creepy set pieces is the equivalent of venturing into a haunted house attraction. It’s daring, fun, and absolutely thrilling.”

An English-language remake of Terrified was originally set up at Fox Searchlight back in 2018 with Rugna directing and Guillermo del Toro producing.

Hawley is currently gearing up to enter production on the second season of “Alien: Earth.”
