Hostel and Thanksgiving director Eli Roth has served up a chilling Ice Cream Man teaser trailer, courtesy of EW.
The unrated horror film will be released in theaters August 7 via The Horror Section and Iconic Releasing.
Written by Eli Roth and longtime friend Noah Belson, Ice Cream Man follows the idyllic summer town of Bayleen Bay descending into madness when an ice cream man serves kids sweet delights with horrifying results.
Ari Millen (“Orphan Black”) stars in the titular role along with Benjamin Byron Davis (Red Dead Redemption), Karen Cliche (Thanksgiving), Dylan Hawco, Sarah Abbott, Shiloh O’Reilly, Kiori Mirza Waldman, Charlie Zeltzer (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), Charlie Storey, and Eli Roth himself.
Snoop Dogg — who’s also working with Roth on the forthcoming Don’t Go in That House, Bitch — is contributing music to the film, along with composer Brandon Roberts (Thanksgiving, “Andor”).
The prosthetic makeup effects are handled by Oscar winner Adrien Morot (The Whale, Thanksgiving) and Steve Newburn (Frankenstein, Thanksgiving).
Roth produces with Cream Productions’ Kate Harrison (Thanksgiving). Rap icon Nas executive produces alongside Peter Bittenbender via Mass Appeal.
Ice Cream Man will have swag and photo ops at CinemaCon in Las Vegas tomorrow, April 14 — including an appearance by Roth at 12:30.
