RZA Serves Up Violent Revenge in ‘One Spoon of Chocolate’ Red Band Trailer

Revenge is a dish best served ice motherfuckin’ cold in the retro-inspired red band trailer for One Spoon of Chocolate, written and directed by Wu-Tang Clan founder RZA.

Presented by Quentin Tarantino, the revenge thriller hits theaters on May 1 via 36 Cinema Distribution and Variance Films. It will screen in 35mm for select engagements.

Shameik Moore stars Unique, a veteran and ex-convict seeking a fresh start in a small town. After an altercation with a gang of locals, he starts to suspect they may have something to do with the disappearance of young men in the area – including his cousin.

As he digs for the truth, he finds himself the target of not only the gang, but the local sheriff’s office, whose involvement in the disappearances may be even more sinister. Instead of waiting for his turn to be picked off, Unique and those closest to him decide to fight back.

RJ Cyler, Paris Jackson, Rockmond Dunbar, Emyri Crutchfield, Johnell Young, Harry Goodwins, Michael Harney, and Blair Underwood also star.

Robert Diggs and Paul E. Hall produce the film, which premiered at last summer’s Tribeca Festival.

Influenced by martial arts and exploitation cinema, One Spoon of Chocolate is rated R for “strong violence, some gore, language throughout including racial slurs, sexual content/nudity, and drug use.”
